Meet the artist

Hello! My name is Juan Pablo Chavez Medina. I’m a 20-year-old self-taught Mexican American artist from northeastern-central Texas.

I don’t paint to pass the time, nor do I paint as a side job. I paint to survive, to live; it is the only way. For me to tell life that, after all that life has put on me, I still choose to create, not to surrender. Once my brush stops, so will I.

I hope that through my work, through each brushstroke, you, dear person, can sense the zeal I have for Art; for each piece comes not only with paint and varnish but with the artist's soul. I paint from life; I paint the beauty of simple day-to-day objects and scenes that we miss every day. What is most beautiful is right in front of us. I hope that my work can transmit that to you, dear reader.
